Traditional Hatha Yoga with Shontel Sutton Heim, LMT RYT. No experience necessary. This class is suitable for beginners to intermediate level students. Many modifications and clear instruction given for brand new students. Traditional Hatha Yoga is the yoga all other forms stem from. Focus is alignment, breath and individual needs. With proper alignment, you will reap the benefits of the moderate strengthening exercise and prevent injury.

Prenatal Yoga with Shontel Sutton Heim, LMT, RYT. No experience necessary! This class is for all stages of pregnancy. Focus is connection between mama and baby, strengthening and toning your body to prepare you for labor and birth. Shontel creates a sacred space for honoring all the changes you experience during pregnancy- emotionally, physically and spiritually. She incorporates all of her training in anatomy, kinesiology, belly dancing, Dancing For Birth, multiple doula trainings, and continued education in prenatal yoga into her unique prenatal classes. Everything you learn in prenatal yoga will benefit you during pregnancy, labor, birth, and beyond. Shontel’s prenatal classes are very different than regular yoga classes! Practicing yoga during pregnancy helps with: High and Low Blood Pressure, Occiput Posterior/Breech baby, Pubic Pain, Round Ligament Pain, Hemorrhoids,  bowel changes, Heartburn, Dizziness, Edema/Swelling, tension in hips/pelvis, tension in neck/shoulders, mid back pain, foot problems, Headaches, Insomnia, Sciatica, Brachial Plexus pain, Carpal Tunnel Syndrome, numb thigh, nasal congestion, vascular problems, leg cramps, Uterine Prolapse, weak pelvic floor, strengthens and tones muscles!Enjoy sacred space and time connecting with your body and baby while learning safe, gentle yet strengthening yoga poses. Learn poses that honor your changing body during pregnancy and take you through labor and birth. 
Bring your own mat if you have one as well as a water bottle. The studio has extra mats and all the props you’ll need as well as filtered water and tea. Eat a light snack before class or you are welcome to have one with you at your mat. We practice barefoot.

 

 

Mama Baby Yoga with Shontel Sutton Heim, LMT, RYT.  No experience necessary.  This class will focus on the postpartum mama! This is an on going weekly class for postpartum mamas and babies. We will practice gentle yoga poses along with breath work. This class will help with restoration and strength of the pelvic floor, abdominal muscles, back muscles, glutes and deep hip muscles, posture, and relaxation. All while being with your baby. Your little one will be next to you on a mat, blanket or in their infant car seat- whichever you like. Bring whatever you need for baby- their favorite toy, blanket and such.
You tend to your baby as needed- nurse, feed, comfort- whatever your baby needs.
This class is open to all postpartum mamas. For cesarean mamas, you are welcome 3-6 weeks postpartum. It is up to you.
There is no specific age cutoff for babies. It may just get more tricky with mobile little ones, but I am open to letting you try class and see how it goes. All children are different.
Bring your mat if you have one, your water bottle and a snack if you want, and anything you need for baby.
Please show up 10-15 minutes early your first time to the studio.

 

What to expect for yoga classes:
Bring your own mat and water bottle. The studio has a few extra mats if needed. The studio has many props including- pillows, bolsters, blocks, straps, folding chairs, and yoga/birth balls. There is filtered water available as well as hot tea. We practice barefoot and no shoes are allowed in the yoga studio. Please arrive 15 minutes early for your first visit to the studio.
